Michael and I have always been nomads. We have been dislocated every few years due to another duty station with the military or just curiosity. As a child, I never went to a school more than 1 year until I went to HS and was there all 3 years. I went to a variety of colleges/Universities, states and countries looking to complete my education. When we met and married in TX, we were relocated to the other side of the state for me to Nursing school and Michael to begin a Doctorate program. Our adventures continued from there. We then moved to NC, left the military and bought an RV and traveled to rural WA to work as a travel nurse. It was during that time we were able to visit other farms with various topography and styles. We were sold on the idea! We found our property and dove in head first with zero prior training or skills.

We started with a small flock of 4 hens off FB Marketplace. Bought a coop from TSC. Assembled it and slapped some paint on and then, we had our own eggs! So, you don’t have to start big, you just have to dream a dream and keep working towards that!
